Downtown Events
The Warsaw Community Development Corporation sponsors and assists with many events throughout the year. These events are designed to draw people to the downtown area so that they can experience the beautifully renovated buildings, engaging shops, and exciting restaurants that decorate downtown Warsaw. Downtown Warsaw is an impressive blend of professional, commercial, and residential buildings, and the Warsaw Community Development Corporation is dedicated to the well-being of each and every one!
Check out our upcoming Downtown Warsaw Events! WCDC sponsors events for the whole family! So come to downtown Warsaw and enjoy the festivities.
Volunteer Opportunities
The WCDC is always in need of community minded individuals to help with downtown planning and events. If you are able to offer your time and talents to help keep downtown Warsaw prospering, we would like to talk to you. Please call us at 267-6419 or e-mail wcdc@kconline.com.
Volunteers are needed to assist with monthly First Friday Celebrations. The WCDC is particularly interested in finding different groups to assist with the activities each month so that it is not a burden for any one person or group. Volunteers are also needed to serve on the First Friday planning committee. Meetings are held on Wednesdays at 5:15 p.m. at the WCDC office.
Winter First Friday Events
As a result of a joint effort between Warsaw's Downtown Retail Merchants and the WCDC, hundreds of attendees have been enjoying downtown Warsaw's First Friday Events. Please join us and "put a little downtown" in your life.
February 3rd & 4th - Fire & Ice Festival
Sponsored by Key Bank
On Friday February 3rd, downtown Warsaw will become the site of dozens of delightful ice sculptures. Last year more than 40 sculptures created by the Michiana Ice Carvers dotted the downtown landcape. We are well on our way to having more than 50 sculptures in 2012. The ML Motorsports Car #70 will be featured as the premier sculpture at the southeast corner of the courthouse lawn. Eighteen hundred pounds of ice will be used to replicate the car replete with fire coming out of the exhaust. You won't want to miss it!
